WKTHS History

Wendell Krinn Technical High School (WKTHS) opened on the former Ridgewood High campus on Orchid Lake Road in New Port Richey, FL, on Aug. 13, 2018. The Pasco County School Board named the new technical high school in honor of Ridgewood’s first principal who led the school for 20 years.  Krinn was described as a man who maintained high standards and expectations, and who modeled integrity and compassion.

In partnership with Marchman Technical College (MTC), WKTHS provides students in West Pasco access to 15 different technical education programs, including auto collision/repair, biomedical sciences, commercial art, computer systems, cosmetology, culinary arts, cybersecurity, digital cinema, electricity, HVAC, marine service, robotics and welding.  In addition, WKTHS’ students have access to more dual enrollment courses on campus through Pasco-Hernando State College (PHSC) than any other high school in Pasco County.
